Watch out! Cell phone companies are selling your personal data

http://www.14news.com/story/15922476/cell-phone-companies-sell-personal-information

How many of you are aware that your phone company sells your personal data to the highest bidder? It is pretty freaky that these companies such as Verizon Wireless do that includes what city you live in, downloads (apps as well as websites), videos watched, and even your current location. Who knows,  you could be in the CSU East Bay library like I am right now or at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on a Sunday afternoon watching an Oakland Raider's home game (As of now, the stadium is actually called the O.co Coliseum but it sounds pathetic. Same as some of the other former names such as the "Overstock.com Coliseum" or the "UMAX Coliseum" back in 1997.). Your cell phone company will know right away.

Verizon Wireless has been the first to announce about selling their customer's data where it is sold to businesses but not over to third parties. The information gathered an advantage for Verizon by offering a helping hand to target us with nothing but stupid, annoying ads.

If you think that Verizon is the only one who does all of this, you are wrong. AT&T, T-Mobile, and even my current cell phone provider Sprint are doing the same. I do not like it at all but what can you do though? To me, the only thing these providers care about is making that extra buck. It is always about money, money, money!!
